Crafty crook Paul Williams, 30, got his friend Dave Smith to fake a heart attack so he could escape with hundreds of pounds worth of goods during a shoplifting spree in North Wales

A serial shoplifter got his mate to fake heart attacks to distract staff.

Paul Williams, 30, asked pal Dave Smith to pretend he had heart trouble, a court heard.

Williams, inset, then stole goods while staff tried to “save” his friend’s life. The scam echoed an episode of Only Fools And Horses when Del Boy and his mates are conned by jewellery dealer “Arnie”.

Williams’ New Year raids took place at three shops in North Wales and saw goods worth around £580 being taken from the stores.
