Only Fools And Horses’ Patrick Murray struggling to walk due to cancer pain

The 66-year-old actor revealed he has started relying on a wheelchair to get around.

Only Fools And Horses star Patrick Murray has revealed he has started relying on a wheelchair to get around as the pain of his cancer makes walking a struggle.

The 66-year-old actor – best known for playing Mickey Pearce in the hit BBC sitcom – recently revealed he had been diagnosed with a second cancer that had entered his lymphatic system.

Murray told The Sun: “It has been absolute agony, murder. Every time I put my weight on my legs and hips I’m screaming in my head as I’m trying to walk.”

The actor revealed he started to use a wheelchair when going out shopping with his wife.

He admitted: “I’ve been putting off getting a wheelchair because I thought I wasn’t ready for it yet. It’s just not a nice thing to leave behind.

“But I’ve had radiology treatment which is starting to work.

“The pain is getting less, which is fantastic. I should be able to walk again soon.”

Murray revealed last year that he had lung cancer and a few months later updated fans to say that after undergoing treatment doctors had told him he had been cured.

Then in January 2023 he revealed he had received a second cancer diagnosis and had had a tumour and half of his liver removed.

And on 24 April he tweeted: “Despite all the wonderful efforts by the medical and nursing teams at Medway, Guys and Kings College hospitals, the lung cancer has returned.
