It was part of Del’s successful production line which he claimed was “from an ancient and natural source” — but was in fact the tap in his Peckham flat.

However he is scuppered when it is revealed toxic waste — which Del arranged to be dumped earlier — has entered the water supply.

When the lights are turned off, the water glows in the dark.

Around 200 bottles were made by production for filming and some were taken away by the audience as souvenirs.

The bottle up for auction next month is believed to be the only one boasting the signature of Del Boy, played by Sir David Jason, now 82.

It is going under the hammer in Bristol, where much of the legendary BBC sitcom was filmed.

Andrew Stowe, of East Bristol Auctions, said: “It’s an incredible piece of television history.

“This episode is one of the most famous.”
