The apple doesn't fall too far from the tree in this family of TV and movie stars!

Only Fools and Horses fans watched Rodney Trotter grow from an unlucky in love 20 something-year-old into a happily married man, well sometimes anyway!

After deciding to add some education, other than his famous two GCE’s, to his CV Rodney (Nicholas Lyndhurst) signed up for evening school.

Not only did he study computers but he also found love with fellow student Cassandra Parry (Gwyneth Strong).

The pair hit it off almost immediately and tied the knot in 1989 with a wedding reception thrown in The Nags Head, which is seen in the episode Little Problems.

This is also the Only Fools episode where Cassandra’s yuppie parents Alan and Pamela are also introduced.

Pam wasn’t a huge fan of Del Boy Trotter as she accused Alan (Denis Lill) of being childish whilst in his company, but in the first installment of Miami Twice (1991), Pam gets embarrassingly drunk after Damien Trotter’s christening.

The Parrys also appeared in The Jolly Boys’ Outing.

Although Pamela Parry, played by Wanda Ventham, only appeared in three episodes on the BBC sitcom, she’s a memorable character from the show.

The actor has carved out a hugely successful career with television credits include Casualty, Midsomer Murder, Father Brown, Holby City, Departure, and many more.

And it seems the apple doesn’t fall too far from the tree as Wanda’s son is Hollywood star, Benedict Cumberbatch.

The 44-year-old was born at Queen Charlotte’s and Chelsea Hospital in HammersmithWest London, to parents Wanda and Timothy.

The mum and son have even starred alongside each other as Wanda played the mum of Sherlock Holmes when Benedict played the lead role, his father and Wanda’s husband Timothy Carlton also joined them on-screen for the episode.

He’s also won an Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Miniseries or a Movie for his role as Sherlock and has been nominated for an Oscar after his performance as talented mathematician Alan Turning in The Imitation Game.

In 2021, Benedict is starring in movies Spider-Man: No Way Home, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, Rio, and Magik.
